Below you will find a list of items that we accept here at Family Sharing. Every item we sell in our resale store helps support our mission.

Furniture and Home Decor

Donated furniture either goes directly to food pantry participants or is sold in our resale boutique where all sale proceeds go to fund the food pantry. Furniture items can be dropped off during open store hours and must be inspected and accepted by an associate.

  • Decorative accents
  • Art (framed posters & paintings)
  • Antiques
  • Working lamps
  • Small upholstered furniture (armchairs, ottomans, etc.) with no rips, tears, stains, odors (including cigarette smoke), or pet hair
  • Couches and love seats with no rips, tears, stains, odors (including cigarette smoke) or pet hair
  • End tables, coffee tables, accent tables
  • Small dining room tables, small buffets/servers, chairs
  • Small bookcases, small writers desks
  • UNOPENED boxed mattresses

We accept new and gently used items.

If you are donating ripped or stained clothing to recycle, these must be in a bag or box clearly marked as recycle.

Please remove all hangers prior to donating.

We accept all types of quality, gently used equipment from all sports, including golf clubs, boxing gloves, bikes, and more.

We accept all genres of new and lightly read books for all ages.

  • Please ask regarding other items

We cannot accept medications, over-the-counter meds, or open vitamins.

These items will be given to our Pantry clients in need.

Scrap Metal and Recycling

Scrap Metal and Recycling

We accept scrap metal for Recycling. 

Open bin hours are 10am-4pm, Tuesday-Saturday. 

  • Broken washers and dryers
  • Metal bed frames
  • Broken wheelchairs
  • Old tools

We do not accept items with freon, i.e. refrigerators, dehumidifiers, etc.

We Do Not Accept

  • Building materials (paint cans, wood, bathroom, and kitchen fixtures, window blinds, hardwired fixtures)
  • Large entertainment centers / TV cabinets
  • Oversized furniture, large armoires, china/curio cabinets, sofa beds, waterbeds, sectional sofas, fish tanks, **bed frames
  • Pianos or organs
  • Used cribs or car seats
  • TVs or computer monitors
  • Artificial Christmas trees with broken or nonworking lights
  • Used tents, pools
  • Used vacuums, Robo vacuums (any items with lithium batteries)
  • Large medical equipment (hospital beds, medical devices)
  • *Large household appliances (dishwashers, refrigerators, AC units or dehumidifiers, anything containing freon)
  • **Used mattresses, box-springs or inflatable mattresses

*Broken washers and dryers are not accepted donation items for our resale shop; however, these items may be dropped off at Family Sharing and used for scrap metal donation.

**Lightly used or like-new mattresses, box springs, headboards, footboards, and bed frames are needed on an on-demand basis. Please call us to see if these items are needed at this time.
