We rely on the generosity of the community to assist in funding our mission. Your tax-deductible contribution goes directly to support Ozaukee County residents in need.
You can make a one-time or regular, sustainable contribution by clicking here:
We will send a receipt for your contribution as soon as the donation is processed.
Your donation enables us to purchase nutritious, high quality food. We are able to purchase quality food, at cost from local sources. This enables us to maximize your generous donation.
We would welcome your participation in our upcoming fundraising events.
Volunteering has been proven to make you happier and healthier. Volunteering can help you reduce stress, meet new friends, connect with your community, learn new skills and even advance your career.
We need volunteers to help in the food pantry and in the resale store. There are regular weekly/monthly roles, needs for events and food drives, needs for people with specific skill sets…we are a big operation and that means lots of roles for people with unique talents and interests. If you’re considering whether Family Sharing might be the volunteer opportunity that you would enjoy, call us for a tour and we’ll discuss a role that might be the right fit for you.
We serve 400-600 families each month. We are a self-select food panty, which means that each family gets to make choices based on their preferences. We keep staples on hand (canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, pasta, et cetera) and supplement with a selection of meats, fresh produce, breads, dairy and deli items.
We purchase food, diapers and personal care items each month to ensure that we have staples available for clients.
If you would like to hold a food drive, please contact us and we can help support your drive by dropping off a donation barrel, arranging to pick up, or a time to help you unload the items you will drop off. We can also suggest specific items that we need and suggest ways to get your group excited and involved in the drive.
We always need the following non-perishable items:
Grape or strawberry jelly
Cream of Mushroom soup
Cream of Chicken soup
After you complete your food drive, arranging to have your group come in for a tour and 60-90 minutes of food sorting is a fun and informative wrap up to see the impact the collection will have!
We accept furniture that is in good, sellable condition.
The items that you donate either go directly to families in need or are sold in our resale store and the proceeds go to fund the food pantry. Your generosity in supporting us is appreciated!
We have someone helping at our Donation Door any time the resale store is open.
We pick up furniture on Monday (Grafton and south Ozaukee County) and Tuesday (Grafton/Cedarburg and north Ozaukee County).
Furniture to be picked up must be outside, or in a garage.
We are unable to accept:
Carpet (area rugs are OK)
Furniture with stains/tears/pet hair
Ping pong tables or pool tables
We do ask for your understanding if donated items are refused. The disposal of goods that cannot be utilized is costly and counterproductive to our ability to serve the community.
Clothes and Goods:
Please donate your high quality, gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, sporting equipment, household goods and books.
We all know how great it feels to clean out a closet and get organized. It feels even better to know that the items that you aren’t using can go toward a great cause!
Our donation door is staffed any time the store is open. When you drop off, we will give you a receipt and a coupon for the store. You may drop off after hours – there are donation bins under our canopy for your convenience.
Please keep in mind, items need to be in sellable condition. Is the item something that you would give to a loved one? If so, we will probably have a customer who will enjoy it. Your help in exercising discretion is greatly appreciated. The disposal of goods that cannot be utilized is costly and counterproductive to our ability to serve the community.
Many people don’t realize that Family Sharing accepts scrap metal. We are able to sell it to a recycler in bulk quantity – the proceeds go to funding our mission. Scrap metal includes: all metal that does not contain hazardous materials such as Freon. For example: lawnmowers, washers, dryers, metal furniture, metal file cabinets, metal fencing, et cetera.
